Fountain Plaza, Lindale's newest professional office development is under construction on South Main Street and will provide and upscale project to encourage new businesses to relocate to Lindale.

A joint project of Chet Walters, Jerry Lang and Phillip Lee, the offices at 1816 South Main at County Road 4200 already has one tenant.  Walters' Edward Jones offices will occup a portion of one building.  Other companies have shown interest in the space.

The project will cost an estimated $3.5 million when complete.  Walters and Lang explained that the development, which will front on Main Street facing west will feature a large fountain display and will be something "the citizens of Lindale can be proud to have in their community."  The construction of fountains near the entrance will keep in sync with the development's name, Fountain Plaza Professional Offices.

Two separate buildings joined with an arch will occupy the front portion with two similar buildings being constructed behind those.  Total square footage in the buildings will be approximately 28,000 sq ft.  The building has been in the planning stages for nearly 1 1/2 years according to Walters.

"The City has really helped us with the project," Lang said.  "Red Brown of the Lindale Economic Development Corporation, the people at City Hall have really helped us move things along, especially Jim Cox, city administrator and Jim Mallory, city council member.

He went on to add, "the city set the standards to bring professional buildings to the city and we want to put a building here that meets those standards.  We want to help the city and be a part of the trend to bigger and better things."

"We are wanting to provide a professional office environment that would attract other professionals into the Lindale area.
